Lesley Valdes is critic-at-large for Temple Radio’s WRTI, 90.1 FM, classical and Jazz in Philadelphia.

Previously, she was the full time classical music critic for the Inquirer in Philadelphia (1987-1999).
She was senior critic at The Mercury News in San Jose, CA. (November 1999- May 2002).
She reported and reviewed for Women’s Wear Daily, NY (1982-86).

Her articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Baltimore Sun, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall St. Journal and Vogue. She has also been heard on NPR’s Performance Today
Recently she went to a reunion of The Miami News, her first newspaper post.

She is a poet.
